Veterans are people who served in the military to protect our country. Veterans often face challenges after leaving the military, and there are benefits that help them find a job, attend school, or get medical care. These benefits give them the support they need to live healthy, successful lives. Veteran’s benefits are provided by a part of the U.S. government called the Department of Veterans Affairs, also known as the VA.
The VA has different sections that handle different types of benefits. The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) provides health care to veterans, including doctor visits, hospital stays, and mental health services, the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) provides other types of benefits, like disability payments, education help (such as the GI Bill), home loans, and pensions, and the National Cemetery Administration (NCA) which takes care of burial services and honors veterans after they pass away.
